What is cloud computing ? Everything you need to know about cloud
Cloud computing, also referred to as “the cloud,” is the delivery of on-demand computing
resources everything from applications to data centers—over the internet on a pay-for-use
basis as long as you connected to any network as well..
Cloud computing is a general term for anything that involves hosted services over the internet as for the pay as you service.
Examples of computing resources include networks, storage ,applications services and hosting as well

cloud computing consist of 3 major elements -
1. 5 Essential characteristics
2. 3 Deployment model
3. 3 Service model
5 Essential characteristics :
On-demand Self-service, the 1st characteristic, means that you access to cloud resources such as the processing power, storage, and network you need, using a simple interface without requiring human interaction with each service provider.
2. Broad Network access :
In this, cloud computing resources can be accessed via the network through standard mechanisms and platforms such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and workstations.3.Resource pooling :
In the resource pooling is an IT term that we use in cloud computing environment to describe a situation in which providers serve multiple clients , customers or "tenants" with provisional and scalable services.
It gives cloud providers economies of scale , which they pass on to their customers , making cloud cost-efficient . using multi -tenant model, computing resources are pooled to serve multiple consumers ; cloud resources are dynamically assigned and reassigned, according to demand , without customers needing to concern themselves with the physical location of the resources.
4. Rapid Elasticity :
This , implies that you can access more resources when you need them , and scale down when you don't , because resources are elastically provisioned and release.
5. Measured services :
Measured services , means that you only pay for what you use or reserve as you go ; if you're not using resource you're not paying . resource usage is monitored , measured , and reported transparently based on utilization.
3 Deployment services -
1. Public cloud :
Public cloud is when you leverage cloud services over the open internet on hardware owned by the cloud provider , but its usage is shared by other companies. The data stored in public cloud can be accessed by people around the world .
example - google derive is considered a public cloud service , where you can save the data & excess that data anywhere in the world just by good internet connection.
2. Private cloud :
private cloud means that the cloud infrastructure is provisioned for exclusive use by a single organization that means in simple terms it dedicated to only one organization its not accessible by the public it is purely dedicated . It could run on-premises or it could be owned , managed and operated by a service provider.
BONUS- Difference between public and private cloud
Although the concept of public and private cloud are similar , there are several differences is that a public cloud is available over the internet , while a private cloud is deployed through a firewall.
3. Hybrid :
Hybrid cloud basically a mix of both public and private clouds, working together seamlessly. companies can run a mission critical workload or sensitive applications on the private cloud to handle workload or spikes in demand by public cloud.
3 Service models :
1. Iaas :
In an Infrastructure as a model , you get access to infrastructure and physical computing resources such as , networking , storage and data center space - without the need to manage or operate them.
Infrastructure as a service basically like leasing a car. so if you ever leased a car, you probably did a lot of research , and you care about the specs of the car and their performance . you are also paying for the gas and any tolls or maintenance.
2. Paas :
In an platform as service model , you get access to the platform , that is the hardware and software tools , usually those needed to develop and deploy applications to user over the internet .
Platform as service is like , renting a car . when we rent the car we don't really care about the color and specs , in that we will pay for the gas and tolls.
3. Saas :
Software as a service is a software licensing and delivery model in which software and applications are centrally hosted and licensed on a subscription basis, and sometimes also referred to as "on-demand software."
Saas is basically most simple and easy to use service , its like taking an uber or ola and when we book our rides we don't care about anything , we don't pay for gas and tolls too
CONCLUSION-
In this post we explained the essential models of the cloud computing , by this you can now elect the best deployment service and service model for businesses . how you gonna use this effectively in your work . and by the end of this blog i want to know that which service and deployment you think most effectively work in this upcoming era ? --------

It is really good and i got to know the basics of cloud and the terms associated with it. Hope to see some deep dive into the cloud technology.
ReplyDeleteThis really helps as am a layman to the computing 😄 more success and power to hou.
